Poor Old Snapper

Had to take The Snapper to the useless rapacious cautious vets in seaside town  today.  Its the time of year when he gets his boosters and he had a Kennel Cough vaccine up the nose last Friday.  Sadly it seems to have given him Kennel Cough with the result that he now sounds like he has taken a leaf out of a beagles health care book with a hideous hacking and wheezy cough.  Hound has antibionics the size of large batteries which we have to hide in cheese and mortadella balls - hard life.

Monday Blue(Sky)

A really beautiful day - lots of sitting outside and waiting for BT  wizard.  Apparently he has checked out exchange and as I have seen almost every BT engineer in the area  since December felt it clearly wasn't worth coming out to my house.

On the plus side, loads of lovely cirrocumulus clouds.  Sadly these are the  precursor to a change in the  weather but spectacular all the same.

The sandmartins have  now definitely returned and it loks like they may have started nesting in the landslip by the stream in the fields opposite our little red house.

AAAAAAAAARGH BT.

I have spent most of the last three days shouting at India - India is not my child or my dog or my husband or my wife or my auntie - India is where the benighted call centre for BT is and since I live in the frozen  North of England I've had to shout very loud.

Basically what happens this: - because I am connected to the outside world by a piece of damp bailer twine every time a small breeze blows the broadband elves at my local exchange think my line is about to break and so limit the amount of information I can receive in case all that data comes spilling out and blocks the lane.  I then notice that it takes an inordinately long time to do anything on t'internet and telephone India - I give them all my details (even although their magic mirrors tell them exactly who is calling )  and they then decide that an wizard engineer must be summoned to check out my premises and equipment for bad juju.  The wizards must come because the previous stream of wise men and wizards (7 SINCE LAST DECEMBER) may have missed an evil rune somewhere.  The wizards will then wisely scrutinise my machinery and cast spells and apply potions and will confirm - Oh guess what - No problemo chez moi.  I then phone BT in India  and ask them to readjust the amount of data I can receive and three hours later we are back to normal - Six weeks later exactly the same thing happens again and I feel a VERY BIG headache coming on...

Finally the fault has now been escalated to the complex fault department.   (This is the department that deals with faults more complex than switching a router on and off)  and apparently yet another engineer will be out tomorrow to have a look at the damp bailer twine.  At least I'm creating employment in a rural area.......

On  a much brighter note I saw my first swallow over the farm today  and several bigfatbumblebees although there is still snow on the hills to the south of us.
